Tips for better results

  • Start with 2s, 5s, and 10s

Begin with the easiest tables on the easy setting so beginners get early wins before harder facts.

  • Use mixed tables for review

Once several tables are known, switch to mixed 1-12 so students recall facts in any order.

  • Use the compact layout for warm-ups

Pick the compact layout to fit more questions on the page for a quick start-of-class drill.

  • Print the answer key separately

The PDF puts the answer key on its own page, so you can keep it apart from the student copy.

  • Pair with a multiplication chart

Offer a multiplication chart for support, then move to quizzes as recall gets faster.

  • Build up from skip counting

Practice skip counting first, then use quizzes once students can count a table comfortably.

Under the hood

How the times table quiz generator works

Every question is built from two whole-number factors drawn from the tables you choose, so the product, and therefore the answer key, is always correct. Missing-factor and division questions are made from the same factor pair, which keeps them unambiguous and guarantees a whole-number answer with no negatives or decimals.

Choosing a single table fixes that number in every question, while mixed tables draw from the range you pick. Difficulty nudges the mix of tables and the share of missing-factor questions but never overrides a table you select on purpose. Questions are kept distinct when the table space allows.

Everything is generated on your device, so you can make as many fresh quizzes as you like, instantly and for free. Press Regenerate for a brand-new set of questions using the same settings.
