How the phonics sound game works
Beginning Sounds shows a word and four letter tiles; tap the tile that matches the word's starting sound. Build the Word shows a real three-letter word with one letter blanked (the first, middle, or last letter) plus a short clue sentence, and asks you to tap the tile that completes it.
Every round has 12 items, mixing which specific words and letter choices appear so a repeat round feels fresh. Distractor letters are chosen fairly for each item — never a trick question, just genuine practice.
An optional "Hear the word" button uses your browser's built-in speech feature to say the whole word aloud when available. The game never depends on it — gameplay always works from the written word and clue alone.
