Tips for better results

  • Start with affirmatives

Master simple statements before moving to negatives and questions.

  • Drill third-person -s on its own

The third-person focus is a great way to practice the -s, -es, and -ies spellings.

  • Teach do and does together

The do-or-does type makes the difference between Do and Does clear and quick to check.

  • Use your own verbs

Custom verbs let the sheet match exactly the words your class is studying.

  • Print the answer key separately

The PDF puts the answer key on its own page, so you can keep it apart from the student copy.

  • Pair it with past simple

Once students know the present simple, contrast it with the past simple worksheet.

Under the hood

How the present simple worksheet generator works

Built-in worksheets use an original, classroom-safe verb bank written for this tool. Each verb is stored with its correct third-person form, so the answer key is always spelled right, with -s, -es, or -ies as the rule requires.

Every sentence is built by the grammar rules: he, she, and it take the third-person form in affirmative sentences, while I, you, we, and they use the base form. Negatives use do not or does not with the base verb, and questions use Do or Does with the base verb, so the tool never produces a sentence like "does not plays." Custom verbs let you type your own; if you leave out the third-person form, the tool spells it for you using the regular rules.

Everything is generated on your device. Press Regenerate for a fresh set from the same options, and print or save a clean PDF, instantly and for free. Your custom verbs and settings never leave your browser.

Your data

Private by design

  • No account and no sign-up. Just open it and start.
  • Everything runs on your device, so the worksheet settings you choose and any custom verbs you type stays with you.
  • Nothing you create is uploaded. No values, names, scores, or generated content are sent to our servers.
  • We use Google Analytics only for basic, anonymous pageview counts. It never receives what you enter into the tool.
